Defending NAIA national champion Georgia Gwinnett College men's tennis team members are preparing for the first stage in competing for NAIA singles and doubles championships at the 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association South Regional from Thursday, September 24, through Sunday, September 27, at the GGC Tennis Facility.

The Grizzlies have four seeded singles players and a pair of seeded doubles teams in the tournament's draw. Joining the team in the weekend event will be players from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (Georgia), Montreat College (North Carolina) and Tennessee Wesleyan University.

ITA regional champions and select alternates advance to play for NAIA singles and doubles national championships at the ITA Cup on October 15-18 in Rome, Georgia.

Sophomore Mariano Hasenkopf will make his GGC debut as the top seed in the singles draw. He is scheduled to begin the tournament with a match on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

Classmate Kanan Gasimov, the No. 3 seeded player in the draw, will begin his second year competing in the regional Thursday afternoon.

Luka Vuglar, another sophomore for the Grizzlies, makes his regional tournament debut with the No. 7 seed in the singles draw. He will face Montreat's Fabrizio Moreno in a Round of 32 match on Thursday at 1:45 p.m.

Sophomore Luciano Larosa rounds out the seeded singles players as the No. 8 seed. He will begin the tournament against Abraham Baldwin's Gaspard Filleteau on Thursday at 1:45 p.m.

Unseeded GGC players include junior Aryan Jit Singh, who faces Tennessee Wesleyan's Maceo Simpson in the Round of 32 on Thursday at 1:45 p.m.; junior Kellen Simmons, plays a Round of 32 match on Thursday afternoon against Tennessee Wesleyan's Clovis Mary; and freshman London Vasilescu, plays Tennessee Wesleyan's Mario Monclus Martin on Thursday at 1:45 p.m.

In doubles, the team of senior Nicolas Philibert and Hasenkopf is the tournament's No. 2 seed and will face a duo from Montreat in a Round of 16 match on Thursday at 9 a.m. The Jit Singh-Gasimov team, the No. 4 seed, will also face a Montreat doubles team in the Round of 16 on Thursday morning.

GGC's Larosa-Vasilescu team plays its second fall tournament as a pairing with a match against a Tennessee Wesleyan team in the Round of 16. The duo won a doubles flight against NCAA Division I competition in the Grizzly Invitational earlier this month.

The Simmons-Vuglar team round out GGC's doubles pairings in the tournament with another Round of 16 match against a Tennessee Wesleyan duo on Thursday morning.
