NOMINATION FORM VIEW GGC ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
The GGC Hall of Fame Approval Committee oversees the Georgia Gwinnett College Athletics Hall of Fame, which honors former student-athletes, coaches, administrators, staff and individuals associated with the athletic department for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the GGC athletic department.
ELIGIBILITY
Any former GGC student-athlete, living or deceased, who participated and excelled athletically is eligible for Hall of Fame consideration after his or her athletic eligibility has been exhausted. In addition, former coaches, administrators, staff, etc., who made significant contributions to GGC athletics are also eligible for consideration. Active GGC coaches, administrators, and staff are not eligible for consideration and must be retired from that position.
NOMINATIONS
Any person may recommend an eligible individual for consideration as a nominee. Nominations should be accompanied by information regarding the achievements of the individual being recommended. Once placed on the list of candidates, a person remains on the list for four years unless he or she is re-nominated.
Nomination form/s must be submitted by June 1 to be considered for that year’s class. Nominations received after June 1 shall be tabled until the next year.
The Hall of Fame selection Committee shall meet annually to consider and discuss nominees for that year’s class.
Voting on the Hall of Fame class will be completed by the end of September each year.
SELECTION
As many as 5 individuals may be inducted into the Hall of Fame in any year. Names of those individuals who are nominated are forwarded to the Hall of Fame selection Committee and, once approved by the Committee, will be made public. A Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held each year. The newest inductee/s may also be introduced during a GGC sporting event throughout the applicable year.
The selection committee for the GGC Hall of Fame is made up of alumni letter winners, current and former GGC staff and coaches. There is no established term for individuals on the committee.
