Diana Ilie and
Cherysh Henry picked up straight-set victories in Round of 16 matches.

Ilie, the No. 2 seed, picked up a 6-2, 7-5 victory against SCAD Atlanta's Adrianna Kluska in her ITA regional opener. She will face No. 6 seed Olivia Alcala in the quarterfinal round on Friday, September 19.
Henry collected a pair of victories, with one coming against a seeded player, to round out the strong first-day performers for GGC. She defeated No. 5 seed Anastasija Stojanovic of SCAD Atlanta by a 6-2, 7-5 score. That came after Henry won all 12 games against an opponent from Montreat College (North Carolina). She will now face No. 4-seed Manuella Peguy Eloundou Nga of SCAD Atlanta.

MaryLove Edwards, the No. 3 seed, dropped a hard-fought three-set marathon match to Tennessee Wesleyan University's Ivet Prat. The Grizzly won the opening set by a 6-3 score before Prat forced a deciding third-set tiebreaker with a 7-5 score. Prat won the last four points of the tiebreaker to complete the comeback by a 10-6 score.
The Ilie-Edwards team, the No. 2 seed in the doubles draw, will open play on Friday against a pairing from Montreat.
Coach's Corner
"This was a solid start to the tournament. It was a tough match for MaryLove. Diana and Cherysh were very strong and have been putting in a lot of work during practice. This is their first fall season with us. They know the expectations of being a Grizzly and I'm looking forward to seeing how they compete tomorrow," said Head Coach
Hannah Keeling.
