The Georgia Gwinnett College women's tennis team evened its season record with a 5-2 triumph at Bethel University on Tuesday afternoon in McKenzie, Tennessee.
The Grizzlies (8-8) captured the match's doubles point with strong play on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts. Junior
Suryanshi and sophomore
MaryLove Edwards teamed to collect a 6-2 victory at the top of the lineup. Junior
Mireia Simon Sanchez and freshman
Minami Tan then secured the point with a 6-4 score on the No. 2 court.
Bethel (9-10) took a 2-1 lead after collecting triumphs at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
However, the Grizzlies regained momentum in the match with straight-set victories on the remaining four courts. Suryanshi won 12 of 13 games at No. 2 singles and Tan was victorious by back-to-back 6-1 set scores on the No. 3 court.

Edwards recorded a strong 6-4, 6-1 victory at the top of the singles lineup before Simon Sanchez rounded out the winners with a 6-2, 7-6 (4) triumph at No. 4 singles.

"We played tough and with great energy today in challenging conditions. I love that we closed out a tight doubles point on the No. 2 court with a great first serve. That set the tone for us to step up in big moments throughout the match," said Head Coach
