Sophomore Eva Siska reached the semifinals of the ITA Cup for the second straight fall
Georgia Gwinnett College women's tennis players suffered hard-fought losses to top-seeded opponents in both singles semifinal matches of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Cup on Saturday at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia.

Sophomore Eva Siska, the tournament's No. 4 seed, lost a three-set match to top-seeded Nicole Coopersmith from Keiser University (Florida). After dropping the opening set 6-2, Siska battled back to take the second set by a 6-3 score. However, she couldn't maintain the positive momentum as Coopersmith won the deciding set 6-1.

Pichler ITA forehandMeanwhile, sophomore Selina Pichler fell in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 to No. 2-seeded Stephanie Petit from Montreat College (North Carolina).

"It wasn't our day in singles, but I'm confident the players will use this experience moving forward. Eva had a phenomenal fall season and played at an extremely high level. Selina played a very experienced player. Anytime that you put two players in the singles semifinals you're doing something right," said Head Coach Chase Hodges.
