The No. 18-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team faces another nationally ranked opponent when it hosts No. 25 SCAD Savannah (Georgia) in the Gray Out match on Sunday, September 13, at the Grizzly Soccer Complex, starting at noon.
Fans are encouraged to wear gray apparel and clothing to support the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies (3-2-0) are playing their fourth match against a team featured in the current NAIA Top 25 poll.
The team has won all three of its home matches this season, with the most recent triumph coming by a 2-1 score against St. Thomas University (Florida) last Saturday. It also has registered home victories against Montreat College (North Carolina), 4-0, on August 22 and No. 9 William Carey University (Mississippi), 1-0, on August 30.
Sophomore
Hannah Lorenz was named the Continental Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this fall after scoring three goals in two matches last week. She provided the match winner against St. Thomas. Lorenz leads the team with six goals and has scored two goals in a pair of matches this fall.
Classmate
Barbora Kadlecova has two goals, including the match-winning effort against William Carey, while starting all five matches. Sophomore
Alliyah Rosales also has had two goals this fall.
Junior
Nova Eskelinen and sophomore
Kendra Delgado are tied for the team lead with two assists apiece.
The Grizzlies have scored the first goal in each match and outshot all five opponents in matches this season.
Senior goalkeeper
Rirei Sasaki has made 16 saves and posted a 2-1-0 record in her four appearances. Junior
Elle Sarter registered four saves in playing all 90 minutes in her season debut against St. Thomas. Classmate
Eva Norris also has played 90 minutes in a reserve goalkeeper role and stopped all three shots on goal.
SCAD Savannah (4-1-1) has won four straight matches, including a pair of shutouts last weekend at home. The Bees defeated West Virginia Tech 2-0 on September 4 before collecting a 3-0 triumph against Reinhardt University (Georgia) on Sunday. Haidyn Jenkins leads the team with four goals and 10 points. Cali Wuestefeld has chipped in three goals and one assist and Lovisa Henell has added two goals. Goalkeeper Saga Bryntesson has posted a 0.51 goals against average and made 18 saves while starting all six matches.

ANOTHER WEEKLY HONOR
Sophomore
Hannah Lorenz earned Continental Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. She accounted for three of GGC's four goals scored across two matches last week. Lorenz found the back of the net twice at the University of Mobile (Alabama) last Wednesday before netting the match-winner against St. Thomas University (Florida) last Saturday.
SCORING EARLY
GGC has scored the first goal in all five of its matches this season. Those early lead goals have come in the opening 15 minutes of each contest.
ROAD TRIPS ON HORIZON
Following Sunday's home match, the Grizzlies are scheduled to play their next four matches on the road. The Grizzlies have matchups scheduled against nationally ranked Truett McConnell University (Georgia) on September 19, Southeastern University (Florida) on September 24, and Cumberland University (Tennessee) on September 29 to close out the month.
