The nationally ranked Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team has had a Continental Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week.
Sophomore
Barbora Kadlecova, the Defensive Player of the Week honoree, scored the match-winning goal and helped anchor the Grizzlies' defensive unit that shut out No. 9-ranked William Carey University (Mississippi) on Sunday.
The Lesov, Czech Republic, native helped No. 22 GGC keep William Carey off the scoreboard for the first time in 12 all-time meetings between the two programs.
Kadlecova attempted three shots in both matches for the week as the team played two NAIA top-15 ranked opponents.
She follows classmate
Hannah Lorenz in receiving CAC weekly honors for this season. Lorenz was the Offensive Player of the Week award recipient on August 24.
Kadlecova was a third-team NAIA All-American after being the 2025 CAC Player of the Year. She has responded by scoring two goals this season.
Georgia Gwinnett College (2-1-0) is scheduled to travel to the University of Mobile (Alabama) on Wednesday, September 2, starting at 6 p.m. Then, the team hosts St. Thomas University (Florida) on Saturday, September 5, at the Grizzly Soccer Complex, beginning at noon.
