The Georgia Gwinnett College softball team is the top seed for the five-team Lawrenceville Bracket of the 2025 NAIA Opening Round, taking place Monday, May 12, through Thursday, May 15, at the Grizzly Softball Complex.

GGC is hosting the national tournament for the ninth consecutive season and making its 10th NAIA Opening Round appearance in program history. The team has won the Lawrenceville Bracket four times, including each of the past two years.

Joining the Grizzlies in the Lawrenceville Bracket field are No. 2 seed St. Thomas University (Florida), No. 3 seed Evangel University (Missouri), No. 4 seed Thomas University (Georgia), and No. 5 seed Johnson University (Tennessee).

Play in the double-elimination tournament is scheduled to begin Monday, May 12, with Thomas facing Johnson at noon, followed by St. Thomas matched against Evangel at 2:30 p.m. As the top seed, GGC will wait to play the winner of the earlier Thomas/Johnson game at 5 p.m.

Georgia Gwinnett College (43-8, ranked No. 6 nationally) earned an automatic bid to the 48-team field by winning the Continental Athletic Conference tournament championship, defeating Westcliff University (California) 5-0 for the program's ninth league title. The Grizzlies have won 16 straight games.

St. Thomas (44-6, ranked No. 17 nationally) won The Sun Conference tournament with a 4-2 victory against Southeastern University (Florida) in the title game. The Bobcats are making their second straight postseason appearance, posting a 2-2 record in last year's Klamath Falls Bracket, hosted by Oregon Tech.

Evangel (40-10, ranked No. 24 nationally) brings a six-game winning streak into NAIA postseason play. The Valor defeated Friends University (Kansas) by 2-0 and 6-0 scores to capture the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament title. This will be the program's second Opening Round appearance.

Thomas (29-20, receiving votes) was an at-large national tournament selection from the Southern States Athletic Conference tournament. This marks the second time the Night Hawks have qualified for postseason play.

Johnson (29-13) is making the program's NAIA postseason debut after winning the Appalachian Athletic Conference title with a 4-1 record in the tournament. The Royals were the No. 4 seed in the AAC tournament field.
