Athletics Reorganizes External Operations; Singler Named Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement

The external operations staff handles marketing, gameday experience and branding for GGC's eight athletic teams
Georgia Gwinnett College's Office of Athletics has reorganized its external operations with a staff promotion, new responsibilities and the addition of Sarah Singler as the Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement.

Matt Mahony has been promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for External Operations after serving as the department's Video and Broadcast Coordinator. He will still oversee the Grizzly Digital Network production and crew members and has added responsibilities for the office's brand management and campus and community relations.

Executive Athletic Director Dr. Ian Potter will work directly with corporate partnership opportunities. Director of Sports Information Dale Long rounds out the external operations staff.

"We are entering a new era of GGC Athletics. As a large part of Dr. Potter's vision for the future, we are now positioning our staff to usher in men's and women's basketball in the fall," said Mahony. "We are going to create a brand new gameday experience for baseball and softball. We are excited about new opportunities coming to the Grizzly Soccer Complex, plus growing the atmosphere at the GGC Tennis Facility."

Mahony added, "Our goal is to invite campus members, connect with the community and re-establish relationships with our alumni. If you haven't heard from us in the past, get ready. It's time for all Grizzlies to come together and show the world why it's always a great day to be a Grizzly."

Singler will be the first full-time staff member in the role of marketing and fan engagement director in the Office of Athletics' 13-year history. She will assist in all aspects of campus and community relations for GGC's eight sports, including men's and women's basketball games in the Convocation Center, beginning in the 2025-26 athletic year. Singler will also help organize the department's Grizzly Club.

Singler arrives at GGC spending seven years on the athletic department staff at Florida College, including serving as the senior woman administrator and sports information director. She also has been the college's interim athletic director for this school year. The Escondido, California, native was the Continental Athletic Conference's nominee for the NAIA's Charles Morris Administrator of the Year award in 2023-24.

"I am thoroughly excited to add Sarah to our athletics staff," said Mahony. "Sarah will add to our already incredible culture inside the Grizzly Athletics Complex. Her experience in college athletics along with her desire to become a Grizzly made her the ideal candidate. Sarah will be at the forefront of the gameday experience for students, faculty, staff, community members, alumni, and fans. She's going to have tired hands from greeting everyone that comes through the gate to attend our home events on gamedays."

Singler added, "I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to join a school that values strong relationships and a culture of success. Georgia Gwinnett is a place where people support each other and strive to grow, and I'm proud that I get to be a part of it. I want to thank Matt Mahony, Dr. Potter, and the position review committee for believing in my vision for the continued success of our athletic programs. I can't wait to get started as a Grizzly."

Singler graduated from Florida College in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in liberal studies, with a focus on biblical studies, communication and behavior science. She also earned a master's degree from Louisiana State University.
