Impressive season-opening performances in the pitching circle have earned Georgia Gwinnett College junior
Annalise Jarvis recognition as the first Continental Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the season.
Honors are nothing new for Jarvis, who was the 2023 NAIA National Pitcher of the Year and first NAIA All-America team selection after being named the CAC's Pitcher of the Year.
Jarvis started this spring with two dazzling pitching performances, striking out 24 batters and not allowing a run in two games for the No. 4-ranked Grizzlies.
The right hander scattered two hits with 14 strikeouts in a shutout during a season-opening victory last Friday against Lindsey Wilson College (Kentucky).
Jarvis then had 10 strikeouts and surrendered just one hit across four scoreless innings against Taylor University (Indiana) in another victory last Saturday.
The Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, native allowed just three base runners among the 36 batters she faced across the two appearances.
Georgia Gwinnett College (4-0) is scheduled to play in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association NAIA Leadoff Classic from February 16-18 at Columbus, Georgia.
