Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) is adding men's and women's cross country and women's volleyball to its intercollegiate athletic, following approval by the University System of Georgia (USG).
Men's and women's cross country will begin competition this fall, while women's volleyball will debut in the 2027-28 season. More information about the three programs will be released soon, as GGC prepares to welcome a new generation of Grizzly student-athletes.

Dr. Jann L. Joseph states, "The addition of men's and women's cross country and women's volleyball reflects our commitment to creating more opportunities for students to learn, lead and thrive. These programs will strengthen the GGC experience while allowing more students to pursue their academic and athletic goals. We look forward to welcoming these future Grizzlies and the contributions they will make to our campus community."
The new programs reflect growing student interest, regional participation in both sports and the college's continued investment in expanding opportunities for student-athletes.

These new sports add to GGC's highly successful eight athletic offerings in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, softball, and men's and women's tennis, all competing in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Men's and women's cross country and women's volleyball will compete for Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) championships.
"Gwinnett County has a proud tradition of excellence in volleyball and cross country, and we look forward to building on that success at the collegiate level," Potter added. "We're especially excited to welcome women's volleyball to our new Convocation Center. The facility was built to create incredible student and fan experiences, and volleyball will showcase that vision from day one."
GGC launched its athletics program during the 2012-13 academic year with baseball, softball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's tennis before adding men's and women's basketball for the 2025-26 season. Since its inception, the Grizzlies have captured 22 NAIA national championships and 34 conference titles while competing in the CAC (2022-present) and the Association of Independent Institutions (2013-21).
