Seven Georgia Gwinnett College men's tennis players have earned 2026 NAIA All-America honors for their strong play during the Grizzlies' national championship season.

Gian Durrer rounded out the team's honorees as third-team All-Americans.

Francisco Sampedro received the Ward-Ballinger Most Outstanding Player award for his play at the 2026 NAIA National Championship tournament. He posted a 15-1 record in singles matches this spring, with eight wins being on the No. 1 court. Franscisco Sampedro also went 17-1 as a member of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's top-ranked NAIA doubles team. He received first-team honors for the first time in his career after being a second-team selection in 2025 and 2024.
Villarruel becomes a four-time NAIA All-American after earning first-team honors in 2026, 2025 and 2023, and second-team honors in 2024. He won nine of his 10 singles matches this spring and had a 17-1 record in doubles action. The ITA ranked Villarruel No. 3 nationally in singles and No. 1 in doubles with Francisco Sampedro. The senior won three doubles and two singles ITA individual NAIA national championships, along with six team national titles.
Yerdilda won the match-clinching point at No. 4 singles in GGC's 4-0 victory over No. 2 Tennessee Wesleyan University in this spring's NAIA national championship match. His 17 singles victories stood second on the team and he won 10 of 11 matches on the No. 2 court. Yerdilda posted a 16-3 record in doubles during his initial collegiate season.

Carlos Garcia led the Grizzlies with 18 singles triumphs, winning at least four matches on three different courts, and posted a 16-3 mark in doubles. He went 7-0 at No. 3 singles and won 11 doubles matches on the No. 3 court. The senior was No. 53 in the ITA's national NAIA singles ranking.
Perez Esnaola won the match-clinching point for the Grizzlies in a dual match victory against Tennessee Wesleyan at this year's ITA NAIA indoor championship. He compiled a 13-2 record in singles, ranking No. 13 nationally, and went 15-2 in doubles action this spring. Perez Esnaola teamed with Durrer to capture the doubles-clinching point in the NAIA outdoor title match.
Gasimov was victorious in all 15 of his singles matches and added five other wins in doubles this spring. He concluded the season at No. 21 in ITA's NAIA doubles ranking.
Durrer posted a 15-2 record in doubles and 11-2 mark in singles during 2026. Eleven of his wins in doubles came in matches on the No. 2 court. Meanwhile, six of his singles triumphs were on the No. 4 court. Durrer teamed with Perez Esnaola to stand No. 27 nationally in doubles, as ranked by the ITA.

Georgia Gwinnett College, led by NAIA Coach of the Year
Tom Rees, went 25-0 and captured its 11th national title during the 2026 season. It was the Grizzlies' 10th undefeated season in the program's 14-year history. The 11th championship is tied for the most recorded in NAIA men's tennis history.
