For the fifth time in the past six seasons, the Georgia Gwinnett College men's tennis program has swept the NAIA singles and doubles national championships at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Cup, which took place this weekend at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia.
RESULTS
Sophomore
Kanan Gasimov dominated Sunday's singles final while the doubles team of senior
Nicolas Philibert and sophomore
Mariano Hasenkopf followed with a convincing straight-set triumph.
Gasimov, the tournament's No. 2 seed, defeated No. 4-seeded Nicolas Cortes of Tennessee Wesleyan University by 6-0, 6-2 scores. The GGC player won all four of his ITA Cup matches in straight sets and had a 9-0 record during the fall ITA competition season.
Gasimov is the sixth different Grizzly to win a NAIA individual singles national championship in the program's 15-year history.

Likewise, the unseeded doubles tandem of Philibert and Hasenkopf cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 triumph against the No. 4-seeded team from Lindsey Wilson University. The Grizzly duo defeated three seeded teams in the tournament to claim its first NAIA doubles national title.
Philibert and Hasenkopf become the ninth different GGC doubles pairing to capture the NAIA doubles crown. The program has had a team win the doubles national title in six consecutive years.
Coach's Corner
"It's another great day to be a Grizzly. The guys did what they came to do and brought the titles home to Lawrenceville. I was impressed with the professionalism, composure and discipline that our guys played with throughout the tournament," said Head Coach
