Devontre Chaney Named 2025-26 CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year

Junior Devontre Chaney led the Grizzlies in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals during the program's inaugural 2025-26 season
Georgia Gwinnett College junior Devontre Chaney has collected the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year award for the 2025-26 season.

The postseason honors, selected by voting within league coaches, were announced before the start of this year's postseason championship tournament, starting on Thursday, February 26, and continuing until Sunday, March 1, at Georgia Gwinnett College's Convocation Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Georgia Gwinnett College's Chase Teichmann received the Coach of the Year honor after guiding the Grizzlies to a 23-5 record and top seed in the CAC tournament during the program's inaugural season.

Kramer dribbleSenior Drew Kramer joined Chaney in receiving first all-CAC team honors while junior Jahiem Berry was named to the second all-conference team. Senior Ezzy Dawson Jr. rounded out the CAC postseason honorees with a spot on the Champion of Character team.

Chaney led GGC by averaging 15.3 points and 9.5 rebounds a game and having 113 assists and 42 steals. The guard-forward had 10 double-double performances and a triple-double in GGC's inaugural game of the season. Chaney made 55.2 percent of his field goals and was the lone CAC player named to the Bevo Francis Midseason Top 100 Watch List by Small College Basketball.

Kramer ranked second on the team by scoring 13.5 points per contest, with 74 3-point field goals. The guard-forward has made 41.3 percent of his 3-pointers. Overall, Kramer has started 27 games and has made more than 50 percent of his field goals. He scored a career-high 27 points at Bryan College (Tennessee) on January 3.

Berry leads the CAC by making 44.7 percent of his 3-point field goals. The guard has connected on 97 shots from behind the 3-point arc to score 13.4 points per contest. He also has had 61 assists and 30 steals while playing in all 28 games this winter.
