The Georgia Gwinnett College men's basketball team continued its postseason success with a strong 107-78 win against Fisher College (Massachusetts) in Saturday's semifinal round of the 2026 Continental Athletic Conference Championship, being hosted at the Convocation Center.
The top-seeded Grizzlies (25-5) advance to play No. 2-seed Arkansas Baptist College (17-9) in the championship game on Saturday, March 1, at 4 p.m.
GGC delivered another high-scoring game, pulling away from the Falcons (17-12) after leading 49-40 at halftime. The team scored the first eight points of the second half and outscored Fisher by a 58-38 margin over the course of the second 20 minutes, shooting 57.6 percent (19-of-33) of its field goals, 50 percent of its 3-pointers (5-of-10), and 71 percent (15-of-21) of its free throws in the period.
The tournament hosts took control of the first semifinal game after the first minute and never looked back. A well-rounded offensive effort and fast pace pushed the team's lead into double digits midway through the first half. That lead grew to as much as 29 points in the second half.

The Grizzlies top three scorers came off the bench to provide significant contributions in the winning effort. That potent group included freshman
Mario Hill Jr., who energized the offense with a team-high 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including three 3-pointers; junior
Brasen James, with 16 points and six rebounds; and senior
Manny Montgomery, with 15 points and six rebounds while converting 7-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Freshman
Patrick Johnson achieved a double-double performance with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, helping GGC out-rebound Fisher by a 50-38 margin.
Junior
Jahiem Berry contributed 12 points on four 3-pointers, and senior
Deonte' Martinez added 11 points – giving the team seven players in double figures.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies' defensive effort held Fisher to 36.7 percent shooting and 25.7 percent from 3-point range for the game. The hosts had a considerable edge at the foul line, making 21-of-28 free throws.
Allen Lattimore led Fisher with a game-high 23 points, while Justin Covington added 12 points and seven rebounds. The visitors got 24 points from their bench.
Saturday's semifinal victory assures Georgia Gwinnett College one of the CAC's two berths in this year's NAIA national tournament – quite an accomplishment for a first-year program.
Coach's Corner
"This was a good team win. I have been proud of our depth all year and today was just another example (seven players in double figures). No time to celebrate as we have to focus, rest up and prepare for Sunday's championship game," said Head Coach
Chase Teichmann.

Seven players posted double-digit performances for the tournament hosts, with four of them coming off the bench to contribute to a balanced scoring attack.
