The Georgia Gwinnett College men's tennis team seeks to continue its strong start to the 2026 season when it competes in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association NAIA Indoor National Championship from Friday, February 13 through Sunday, February 15 at the Rome Tennis Center.
The team plays a quarterfinal match against No. 7 seed University of the Cumberlands (Kentucky) on Friday at 8 a.m.
The Grizzlies are the No. 2 seed and are the two-time defending indoor national champions. GGC defeated Tennessee Wesleyan University 4-3 to capture the 2025 title.

Georgia Gwinnett College (3-0) enters the event off a 5-2 victory against NCAA Division III top-10 opponent Emory University (Georgia) on Tuesday. The team has also collected victories against NCAA Division II No. 10 University of North Georgia, 4-3, on January 30 and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (Georgia), 7-0, on February 3.
Freshman
Yerassyl Yerdilda leads the team with a 3-0 singles record, including a 2-0 mark on the No. 2 court. He has a 2-1 record in doubles action with senior
Juan Carlos Garcia. The pairing is coming off a 6-2 triumph on the No. 3 court against Emory on Tuesday.
Carlos Garcia has also been strong in singles play, posting a 3-0 record with one win on the No. 4 court and two victories on the No. 5 court.
Senior
Francisco Perez Esnaola and sophomore
Gian Durrer have won all three of their doubles matches, including two victories on the No. 2 court.
Junior
Kanan Gasimov rounds out the undefeated singles players with a 2-0 mark.

Senior
Santiago Villarruel is the top ranked singles and doubles player by the ITA. He teamed with classmate
Luis Francisco Sampedro to win the NAIA Doubles national championship last fall. Villarruel has twice captured the NAIA Singles national title.
