Men’s Tennis Preparing for 2026 Season

The Grizzlies are scheduled to have a 10-match home stand from February 21-March 31
The No. 2-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College men's tennis team is scheduled to face opponents from five collegiate divisions during the upcoming 2026 season under first-year Head Coach Tom Rees.

The Grizzlies have won 10 NAIA national championships and were runner-up in 2025.

2026 SCHEDULE

Perez Esnaola serveGGC is slated to begin the 2026 season with a road match against NCAA Division II Lander University (South Carolina) on January 22. The home opener is set for January 24 against Division II Belmont Abbey College (North Carolina). The team closes out the opening month of the campaign with a home match against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (Georgia) on January 25.

February matches begin with a road contest against Division III's Emory University (Georgia) on February 10. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association NAIA Indoor National Championship is planned February 13-15 in Rome, Georgia.

Then, GGC begins a 10-match home stand with contests against the University of the Cumberlands (Kentucky), on February 21; SCAD Savannah (Georgia) and Montreat College (North Carolina), on February 22; College of Coastal Georgia, on March 12; Campbellsville University (Kentucky) and NCAA Division III Earlham College (Indiana), on March 13; University of Pikeville (Kentucky), on March 14; NCAA Division I The Citadel (South Carolina), on March 27; and Millennia Atlantic University (Florida), on March 31.

Villarruel NAIA backhandThe team travels to Pulaski, Tennessee, to face Bethel University (Tennessee) and University of Tennessee Southern on April 3 before playing Cumberland University (Tennessee) on April 4.

The regular season is scheduled to conclude with a home match against Emory on April 18.

Georgia Gwinnett College is planning to once again compete in the 2026 NAIA National Championship, taking place May 12-16 in Mobile, Alabama.
