Sarter Repeats as CAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

A pair of strong performances against nationally ranked opposition has earned Georgia Gwinnett College sophomore Elle Sarter honors as the Continental Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week of the 2025 season.

Sarter was phenomenal in protecting the goal, posting a .846 save percentage and 1.00 goals against average while making 11 saves.

The goalkeeper had a career-high nine saves in the Grizzlies' 3-1 upset triumph at top-ranked and defending national champion SCAD Savannah (Georgia) last Saturday.

The Bassingborne, England, native previously had stopped two shots with the lone goal allowed being a penalty kick effort in a 1-0 setback to No. 21 Truett-McConnell University (Georgia) last Tuesday in the team's home opener.

Georgia Gwinnett College (2-1-0), ranked No. 22 in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 poll, is scheduled to begin a three-match home stand against Southeastern University (Florida) on Friday, September 5, at the Grizzly Soccer Complex, starting at 11 a.m. Then, the team is planning to host Xavier University of Louisiana on Sunday, September 7, at noon.
