The Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team concluded the 2025 campaign with a 3-0 setback to No. 14 seed Keiser University on Saturday afternoon in a Second Round match of the NAIA tournament in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The Seahawks (16-3-1) scored a pair of goals in the first half to take a commanding lead in the match.
Minutes after an initial shot from GGC junior
Jade Perrin struck the opposing crossbar and a rebound attempt from sophomore
Christy Noble was saved, the tournament hosts broke through for the first goal of the contest.
Luisa Fontes found the back of the net in the 23rd minute before a tally from Ruby Vernon during the 37th minute gave Keiser a 2-0 halftime advantage.
Lauren Riley added a second-half tally in the 61st minute to secure the postseason triumph.
GGC freshman
Hannah Lorenz placed a pair of shots on goal during the second half, but the team couldn't score in the match.
Keiser, ranked No. 3 in the final NAIA Top 25 Poll of the regular season, outshot the Grizzlies (10-6-5) by a 14-4 margin, including a 10-3 edge in shots on goal.
GGC advanced to the NAIA Second Round for the second consecutive season.
Coach's Corner
"They (Keiser) are really good. We tried a lot of things to disrupt them. The players did everything I asked of them, but the better team won the match. This has been a great team to coach, so I'm sad that the journey is over for this season," said Head Coach
Dr. Mike Giuliano.
