Women’s Basketball Hosting 16 Games During Inaugural Season

The Grizzlies play their first five games at home during the 2025-26 season
The Georgia Gwinnett College women's basketball team is scheduled to host 16 of its 28 games during the program's inaugural winter season.

The historic schedule features the first five games being played inside the new The Convocation Center, beginning with a season-opening contest on October 23 against Brenau University (Georgia) – the first collegiate basketball game in GGC history. Tickets for home games will be available for purchase beginning on Monday, August 18.

2025-26 SCHEDULE

The Grizzlies will play six games against four opponents that competed in last season's NAIA national tournament. The team faces Johnson University (Tennessee) in a home-and-home series and two games against defending Continental Athletic Conference champion Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas).

"In choosing to play these teams, it sends a statement to our players that I believe in them," said Head Coach Tory Wooley, who won over 200 games in 11 seasons at Point University (Georgia). "To be the best, you have to play the best. We wanted a regular-season schedule that not only prepares us for the national tournament but also puts us in a position to be a Top 25 team (nationally) in the first year of our program."

Convocation Center outsideAfter the season opener against Brenau on October 23, GGC will host Toccoa Falls College (Georgia) on October 25 as part of the college's Grizzlyfest.

Other early home games will be against Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina), on October 30; Bluefield University (Virginia), on November 1; and Lindsey Wilson College (Kentucky), on November 5.

"I'm excited to get this season underway as we open at home in our packed The Convocation Arena on October 23, followed by Grizzlyfest on October 25," stated Wooley. "We have 16 regular-season home games that we're excited to play in front of our home fans. We play five teams from outside of our conference who could easily make it to the national tournament next March."

Georgia Gwinnett College also will host the CAC Basketball Championship tournament from February 26 through March 1, with eight teams coming to Lawrenceville to compete for a chance to represent the conference in the NAIA national tournament.

The CAC Classic on campus February 6-7 will have the team playing games against Florida National University and Fisher College (Massachusetts). Then, GGC travels to a CAC Classic at Florida College earlier in the season.

Other home opponents will be Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (Georgia), on November 15; Thomas University (Georgia), on November 19; Faulkner University (Alabama), on December 4; Montreat College (North Carolina), on December 16; Truett-McConnell University (Georgia), on January 17; Johnson, on January 24; Carolina University (North Carolina), on January 27; Milligan University (Tennessee), on January 31; and Haskell Indian Nations, on February 14.

"In my 13 years of coaching, my teams have had a lot of success playing these schools, and I'm confident that facing this level of competition will help prepare us to beat the best and have postseason success," said Wooley.
