Georgia Gwinnett College junior outfielder Alex Harrell has been named the 2025 Continental Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Year, among 11 Grizzlies earning all-conference honors on the eve of the postseason conference tournament at the Grizzly Baseball Complex.

In other specialty honors, senior Ben Harris received the Pitcher of the Year award and Jeremy Sheetinger was selected Coach of the Year. Senior Kyle Norton was named to the league's Champion of Character team. Six members also received gold glove honors for their strong defensive play during the 2025 season.

The Grizzlies also were well represented on the league's all-conference first team. Joining Harrell and Harris on the list were senior relief pitcher Wyatt Dodgens, senior catcher Matthew Lee, senior second baseman Braxton Meguiar, senior shortstop Jackson Cobb, senior third baseman Paul Winland Jr., senior outfielder Jon Ponder, and senior designated hitter Scott Seeker.

Harrell leads the Grizzlies with a .466 batting average, behind 75 hits, 73 runs scored and 62 runs batted in. The outfielder also has 20 doubles, four home runs and four triples in 47 games.

Harris earns Pitcher of the Year honors for the second straight year. The right hander posted a 9-0 record and 2.43 earned run average in 12 starts this spring and tossed a complete game in a 4-1 win against No. 3 Reinhardt University (Georgia) on April 8. He has 76 strikeouts across 66.2 innings.

Sheetinger guided the No. 2-ranked Grizzlies to a 46-4 record and the top seed in the 2025 CAC Baseball Championship Tournament, starting Friday, May 2, and continuing until Sunday, May 4. The winner will represent the league in the NAIA Opening Round of the national tournament.
