Strong performances on both ends of the basketball court before the Thanksgiving holiday break have led Georgia Gwinnett College sophomore
Jamya Griffin and junior
Devontre Chaney to be named the Continental Athletic Conference Basketball Players of the Week.
Griffin, the women's offensive recipient, scored a game-high 22 points in the Grizzlies' hard-fought 59-55 loss at Life University (Georgia) last Tuesday.

The Harvest, Alabama, native made 50 percent (9-of-18) of her field goals in the contest.
Griffin ranks second on the team in scoring at 12.1 points per game and is making 37.8 percent of her field goals while distributing 24 assists to the offense.
Chaney, the men's defensive honoree, had three steals and grabbed six rebounds in last Tuesday's 103-73 win over No. 10 Dalton State College (Georgia), the first victory over a nationally ranked opponent in program history.
The guard-forward from Lake Wales, Florida, scored a team-high 18 points and is now averaging 15.5 points per game. He also is collecting 10.1 rebounds per contest to average a double-double and leads the team with 19 steals and 56 assists so far during GGC's inaugural season.

The women's team stands 6-4 on the season and is scheduled to host Columbia College (South Carolina) on Thursday, December 4, in the Convocation Center, starting at 5:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the men's team is 8-2 and ranked No. 25 in the latest NAIA Top 25 national poll. The Grizzlies are scheduled to compete in the Cumberlands Classic on December 5-6 in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
