Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer freshman Barbora Kadlecova has collected the Continental Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week award for the first time in her career.

She led the Grizzlies to an unbeaten week (2-0-1) by scoring a match-tying goal in a home draw against Bethel University (Tennessee) last Saturday.

The Lesov, Czech Republic, native headed in a corner kick during the 77th minute. Kadlecova helped the team post two shutouts and four of the defender's five shots were on goal during the week.

Georgia Gwinnett College (6-3-3 and ranked No. 20 in the NAIA Top 25 poll) is scheduled to travel to Campbellsville University (Kentucky) on Friday, October 9, starting at 8 p.m. Then, the team concludes the road trip against Lindsey Wilson College (Kentucky) on Sunday, October 11, beginning at 1 p.m.
