Georgia Gwinnett College women's tennis senior
Justine Lespes dropped a straight-set match in Sunday's singles final of the UTR NAIA Nationals at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia.
FINAL RESULTS
Lespes, the tournament's No. 3 seed, won three matches by straight sets to advance to the championship match. That's when she lost 7-5, 6-2 to top-seeded Shalimar Talbi of SCAD Atlanta. Lespes defeated SCAD Atlanta's Carmine Becoude by 6-0, 6-2 scores in Saturday's semifinal round.

Meanwhile, GGC senior
Isid Hernandez lost to Talbi in the semifinals after collecting straight-set wins in the Round of 16 and quarterfinal rounds of the tournament. Hernandez had been the No. 4 seed in the inaugural national event, hosted by Universal Tennis.
Freshman
Diana Ilie, the No. 2 seed, dropped a three-set match to Becoude by 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 scores in Saturday's quarterfinal round.
