Georgia Gwinnett College men's tennis players added three wins Sunday afternoon to amass 22 victories across singles and doubles in the season-opening University of North Florida Invitational, a weekend in Jacksonville, Florida, that was full of challenging competition from NCAA Division I opponents.
Senior
Leonardo Sprovieri earned a straight-set victory against the University of Buffalo's Theodoros Mitsakos by 7-6, 6-2 scores. He finished with a 5-2 record for the tournament, concluding with four straight wins.

Meanwhile, freshman
Dhakshineswar Suresh also was victorious against a Buffalo opponent, defeating Simon Wibler in a three-set match. The Grizzly held off a rally to win the third-set tiebreaker by a 10-8 score.
Junior
Alex Gurmendi had an impressive 6-3, 6-2 victory against North Florida's Jonas Hartenstein. Gurmendi won all three of his singles matches and helped post three additional doubles victories during the weekend.
Georgia Gwinnett College, the eight-time defending NAIA national champion, opens the spring dual season with a doubleheader against NCAA Division II Belmont Abbey College (North Carolina) on Saturday, January 28, at the GGC Tennis Facility.
