Junior Alex Gurmendi won all three of his singles matches at the UNF Invitational by winning in straight sets Sunday
Georgia Gwinnett College men's tennis players added three wins Sunday afternoon to amass 22 victories across singles and doubles in the season-opening University of North Florida Invitational, a weekend in Jacksonville, Florida, that was full of challenging competition from NCAA Division I opponents.

Senior Leonardo Sprovieri earned a straight-set victory against the University of Buffalo's Theodoros Mitsakos by 7-6, 6-2 scores. He finished with a 5-2 record for the tournament, concluding with four straight wins.

Meanwhile, freshman Dhakshineswar Suresh also was victorious against a Buffalo opponent, defeating Simon Wibler in a three-set match. The Grizzly held off a rally to win the third-set tiebreaker by a 10-8 score.

Junior Alex Gurmendi had an impressive 6-3, 6-2 victory against North Florida's Jonas Hartenstein. Gurmendi won all three of his singles matches and helped post three additional doubles victories during the weekend.
