Ayed Zatar is excelling on the international stage this summer, leading Paraguay in the 2018 Davis Cup season. This is the third straight year that he has represented his native country in Davis Cup competition.
Zatar has a 2-0 record in doubles and 3-1 mark in singles play to help Paraguay to three victories in its four matches while competing in Group III of this year's tournament.
GGC's rising senior picked up two points in the team's 3-0 victory against Panama, earning a three-set victory in singles and a straight-set win in doubles. He recorded wins in singles and doubles in Paraguay's 3-0 victory against Cuba, and had a 6-4, 6-4 singles victory to clinch Paraguay's win against Costa Rica.
Zatar earned second-team NAIA All-American honors this spring in helping the Grizzlies earn their fifth straight national championship. He played at No. 3 singles in matches at the NAIA national championships.
