The top-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College women's tennis team earned its first sweep of the 2018 season, defeating Bluefield State College (W.Va.) 9-0 Saturday evening in the Grizzly Invitational.
The Grizzlies (3-0) won 12 of the 14 games during doubles action to take a commanding lead in the match.
Then, sophomores Emerald Able and Maria Prados Cid won all 12 games to score victories on the No. 1 and No. 4 singles courts. Junior Henar Munoz picked up a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at No. 2 singles. Sophomores Margarida Abreu and Chiara Rebecchi rounded out the winners at No. 3 and 5 singles.
GGC has won both of its matches during the Grizzly Invitational, knocking off No. 13 Xavier University of Louisiana 7-2 Friday.
