Georgia Gwinnett's second-ranked women's tennis team captured its fourth consecutive victory on Sunday as it defeated Campbellsville (Ky.), which is receiving votes nationally in the NAIA Coaches Poll, 9-0.
The Grizzlies blanked all four opponents of the GGC Invitational, outscoring all four teams 25-0.
"Four sweeps in three days is a great way to start March," stated GGC head coach Chase Hodges. "It's great to pick up victories against this weekend's tough competition, especially over ranked opponents."
All three Grizzly doubles duos remained perfect on the weekend, sweeping the Tigers to go up 3-0 at the break.
The Grizzlies continued their hot streak, sweeping all six singles matches for the 9-0 win. Notably, three Grizzlies, including Luma Schwab, Helga Pinones-Haltenhoff, and Chiara Di Salvo, swept their singles matches winning 6-0, 6-0.
Both Valeria Podda and Klara Dohnalova captured wins at the one and two singles spots, respectively, while freshman Sophie Feller picked up the sixth victory in a 10-5 tiebreaker in the number four spot.
GGC returns to action on Monday when it hosts the Cumberlands (Ky.) in head-to-head action. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
