The Georgia Gwinnett College Tennis Facility is a premier addition to the Grizzly athletics landscape.
The college recently accepted the property as a gift from the GGC Foundation that includes the former Collins Hill Tennis & Fitness Center at 100 Countryside Place, a short distance north of main campus. The facility includes four clay and 12 asphalt courts, spectator seating, locker and weight rooms, office space and common areas.
"This property will provide first-class facilities for our intercollegiate tennis program, as well as intramural and club sports," says Dr. Darin S. Wilson, director of athletics. "Obtaining such a great facility nearby will augment our main athletics facilities on campus."
Longtime collegiate head tennis coach Chase Hodges will guide the Grizzlies' programs, which take the courts for competition in spring 2013.
"This facility will be a fantastic home for our men's and women's teams," says Hodges. "I'm excited to get started and begin building these programs."
