The No. 6-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College men's soccer team is looking to shake off a tough final-seconds loss as it hits the road for a showdown at the University of Pikeville on Friday, September 25, in Pikeville, Kentucky, starting at 1 p.m.
GGC (4-2-1) is coming off a 1-0 home setback last Saturday to No. 23 University of the Cumberlands (Kentucky) when the winning margin was a goal allowed with 16 seconds remaining in the match.
Despite the recent setback, the Grizzlies have remained solid in the offensive attack, averaging 2.6 goals and 14 shots per match.
Sophomore
Ousmane Fall has been the most productive player, leading the team with six goals and an assist for 13 points. Following closely behind is junior
Pedro Nunes with four goals and an assist for nine points.
Freshman
JJ Grimaldo also has posted strong offensive numbers, adding three goals and an assist, while junior
Djordje Djurasinovic has attempted a team-high 20 shots.
Senior goalkeeper
Dagoberto Romero has a 3-2 record and a .727 save percentage across five matches. The team has allowed just eight goals this fall.
