The No. 22-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team is gearing up to face its second straight ranked opponent, hosting No. 9 William Carey University (Mississippi) on Sunday, August 30, at the Grizzly Soccer Complex, starting at 2 p.m.
GGC (1-1-0) has scored six goals across its first two matches. The team is seeking to bounce back from a 4-2 setback at No. 13 Life University (Georgia), after enjoying an early first-half lead.
Sophomore
Hannah Lorenz leads the Grizzlies with three goals (within seven shots on goal) being half of the team's total for the season. She is the reigning Continental Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after tallying two goals in last Saturday's season-opening triumph against Montreat College (North Carolina) at home.

Alliyah Rosales and
Barbora Kadlecova have each tallied a goal through the first two matches. Junior
Nova Eskelinen and sophomore
Kendra Delgado have contributed one assist apiece this fall.
Senior goalkeeper
Rirei Sasaki leads the team with six saves and has started both matches.
William Carey (1-0-1) is coming off a 1-1 draw at defending NAIA national champion and top-ranked Keiser University (Florida) on Tuesday. The Crusaders scored a 3-0 season-opening triumph against LSU Shreveport. Luana Falconeri leads the team with two goals, while Maddie Davis and Livia Pertl have each found the back of the net once in 2026. Goalkeeper Alicia Garwood has made five saves and played all 180 minutes this season.

ANOTHER TOP-25 SHOWDOWN
No. 22-ranked Georgia Gwinnett is playing its second straight match against a nationally ranked opponent with No. 9 William Carey University (Mississippi) coming to the Grizzly Soccer Complex on Sunday. The Grizzlies dropped a 4-2 contest at No. 13 Life University (Georgia) on Wednesday. It was a match in which GGC outshot the Running Eagles by a 20-9 margin.
OPENING SHUTOUT
GGC picked up a 4-0 triumph against Montreat College (North Carolina) last Saturday in the team's season opener on the home pitch in Lawrenceville. The team had an 8-2-4 home record last season.

Sophomore
Hannah Lorenz found the back of the net for the second straight match during Wednesday's setback at Life. That performance came after the midfielder scored twice against Montreat on the home pitch.
