Upperclassmen to Highlight Women’s Soccer Midfield Action This Season

Experience. Talent. Confidence. 

Those are the endearing qualities that players roaming the midfield bring to the Georgia Gwinnett College women’s soccer team for this upcoming season.

Two juniors and two sophomores join a senior in returning to the midfield as the Grizzlies strive to build upon last year’s 10-6-5 campaign that featured a Continental Athletic Conference championship and advancement to the second round of the NAIA national tournament.

GGCAthletics.com continues the team’s preseason position preview series as the 2026 approaches August 22 with a home match against Montreat College (North Carolina) at the Grizzly Soccer Complex.

Setting up GGC’s offense and helping the defense from the midfield could be talented all-around players in juniors Nova Eskelinen and Kathrine Lindenberg, along with offensive-minded sophomores Hannah Lorenz and Kendra Delgado, and experienced senior Jessica Fuentes.

Eskelinen distributed a team-high eight assists last season, her first with the Green and Gray. A pair of assists came in the 2025 team’s victory at SCAD Savannah (Georgia), which was the NAIA’s top-ranked squad at that time.

Lindenberg, a defensive specialist in the midfield, contributed four goals and 10 points, while helping the defense post six shutouts last fall.

Meanwhile, Lorenz led the Grizzlies in 2025 with eight goals and 22 points in 14 starting assignments, out of 21 matches. Two of her tallies helped spearhead the team to a victory against CAC archrival Bellevue University (Nebraska) in the championship match of the conference tournament.

Delgado contributed four goals and four assists a year ago. She found the back of the net in the conference semifinal-round victory against Florida National University.

Adding versatility to the midfield unit will be wingbacks senior Jade Perrin, sophomore Alliyah Rosales and freshmen Frida Bang and Karen Prado.

Perrin netted a free kick against Bellevue in the CAC finale, while having four goals and three assists across 21 matches a year ago, her first with the Grizzlies. Rosales tied for third on last season’s team with five goals and Bang showcased her talents throughout the team’s spring practices.
