The No. 7-seeded Georgia Gwinnett College women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 contest to No. 2 Lindsey Wilson University (Kentucky) in the quarterfinal round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association NAIA Indoor National Championship on Friday evening at the Rome (Georgia) Tennis Center.
Lindsey Wilson (2-0) captured the doubles point with a 6-3 victory on the No. 1 court.
The Blue Raiders quickly extended the lead in the match to 3-0 behind a straight-set triumph at No. 5 singles and a victory on the No. 6 court.
Sophomore
MaryLove Edwards won the opening set by a 6-3 score in her No. 1 singles match and was leading 4-0 in the second set when the match was halted when Lindsey Wilson secured the fourth point of the match with a 6-2, 6-4 victory on the No. 4 court.
The Grizzlies (1-2) will play a consolation match against No. 3 seed William Carey University (Mississippi) on Saturday, February 7.
