Strong performances during the first week of the season have earned Georgia Gwinnett College seniors
Kailyn Berry and
Savannah Jenkins the first Continental Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week awards of the 2026 season.

Berry, the Pitcher of the Week, had a 2-0 record and dazzling 0.78 earned run average after three appearances as the No. 4-ranked Grizzlies began the spring season. The Duluth, Georgia, native tossed a complete-game victory in the team's season opener against Montreat College (North Carolina) last Tuesday.
The right hander closed out the week by going the distance in another victory against Lindsey Wilson University (Kentucky) in last Saturday's Grizzly Open. She tallied four strikeouts in the performance.
Berry tallied nine strikeouts during the opening week.
Jenkins, the Hitter of the Week, hit .800, with a 1.100 slugging percentage, across five games. The Salem, Alabama, native drove in nine runs and had multiple hits in three games. Jenkins went 3-for-3, with two doubles, in a win over previously undefeated Lindsey Wilson.

Earlier in the week, Jenkins went a combined 4-for-4, with three RBI and a pair of runs scored, in the season-opening doubleheader sweep against Montreat.
Georgia Gwinnett College (4-2) is scheduled to close out the season-opening eight-game home stand with a doubleheader against Bryan College (Tennessee) on Tuesday, February 17, at the Grizzly Softball Complex, starting at 2 p.m. The No. 4-ranked Grizzlies travel to Florida for games against Keiser University and St. Thomas University from Thursday, February 19, through Saturday, February 21.
