The No. 24-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College men's basketball team plays its first conference games of the 2025-26 season while competing in the Continental Athletic Conference Classic on Friday, January 9, and Saturday, January 10, at Florida College in Temple Terrance, Florida.
The Grizzlies (12-4) begin the event by facing Washington Adventist University (Maryland) on Friday at 2 p.m. A contest against Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas) follows on Saturday at 4 p.m.
GGC opened the 2026 calendar year with an 87-78 victory at Bryan College (Tennessee) last Saturday. This weekend of action concludes the team's eight-game road swing across four states.
Senior
Drew Kramer is the reigning CAC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a school-record 27 points at Bryan. He made six 3-point field goals in that contest. That scoring output raised his season scoring average to 13.8 points per game.

Junior
Devontre Chaney continues to lead the Grizzlies in scoring at 16.9 pointers, while also adding 9.9 rebounds per contest. He also is tops on the team with 82 assists and 28 steals. Classmate
Jahiem Berry is tied for team-high honors with 47 3-pointers and is scoring 11.5 points per outing.
Senior
Deonte' Martinez rounds out the team's double-figure scorers for the season, averaging 10.4 points per game. Freshman
Patrick Johnson is averaging 8.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest this winter.
GGC is averaging 87.1 points per game and making 38.1 percent of its 3-point field goals.
Washington Adventist (5-7) has lost its last five games. Joey Brown IV leads the Shock at 18.5 points per game and is tied for the team lead with 19 3-point field goals. Chase Cook also is scoring at an 18.5-point clip and Derrick Jones Jr. rounds out the team's double-figure scorers at 15.3 points per game.
Haskell Indian Nations (3-14) is coming off an 84-77 loss to Park University (Missouri) last Saturday. Jesse White leads the Fighting Indians in scoring at 21.6 points per outing. Nehemiah Boykins (16.4 ppg) and Preston Olney (12.7 ppg) round out the team's double-figure scorers.

MEET THE COACHES
Georgia Gwinnett:
Chase Teichmann is the program's initial coach after a successful four-year stint at Florida College. He has a 12-4 record at the helm of the Grizzlies. Overall, he has compiled a 112-31 record in five seasons as a collegiate head coach. Teichmann guided Florida College to two Continental Athletic Conference titles and led three teams to the second round of the NAIA national tournament.
Washington Adventist: Jerry McFarland has a 74-50 record in five seasons leading the Shock.
Haskell Indian Nations: Matthew Downing is in his 11th season leading the Fighting Indians to an 81-175-6 record.
KRAMER SHOOTS WAY TO WEEKLY CAC HONOR
Senior
Drew Kramer made six 3-pointers to score a school-record 27 points in last Saturday's win at Bryan College (Tennessee) – a performance that earned him the Continental Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week award. Kramer is the third Grizzly player to be recognized by the conference during the program's inaugural season.
RETURNING TO TEMPLE TERRACE
This weekend's CAC Classic at Florida College will be a homecoming for four GGC student-athletes and Head Coach
Chase Teichmann. Seniors
Anthony Bittar,

Stephon Martin, and
Deonte' Martinez played for the Falcons during multiple years, helping the program win several CAC titles. Teichmann won 100 games in four seasons as the Florida College's head coach and served as the college's athletic director. Junior
Devontre Chaney originally committed to play at Florida College before electing to join Teichmann at GGC for the Grizzlies' inaugural season.
CONFERENCE GAMES
GGC is set to play five games against fellow CAC opponents during the 2026 portion of the schedule, beginning with this weekend's CAC Classic. The Grizzlies will host a CAC Classic from February 6-7 before playing Carolina University (North Carolina) to close out the regular season on February 19.
