The Georgia Gwinnett College women's basketball team made 51.5 percent of its second-half field goals to pick up a convincing 64-42 victory at Morris College on Wednesday evening in Sumter, South Carolina.

GGC continued its strong offensive performance in the fourth quarter, pulling away from Morris (4-6) by outscoring the team by a 20-8 margin. The team made nine of its 13 shots (69.2 percent) in the final quarter. A fastbreak layup from Collins gave the team a 56-40 lead midway through the period.

Coach's Corner
"We came out really well in the second half. We made some adjustments to how we guarded the ball screen action that they were running against us. They (Morris) have some players who can score. I'm proud of how we were able to get defensive stops and our bench players really stepped up and contributed in a big way," said Head Coach
Tory Wooley.
Turning Point
The Grizzlies built a double-digit lead, at 37-27, in the third quarter behind a stingy defensive effort after the teams had battled to a 25-25 halftime score. Back-to-back 3-point field goals from freshman
Christen Collins after receiving passes from classmate
Christal Collins helped fuel the decisive third-quarter offensive run.
