Men’s Basketball Releases Schedule for Inaugural Season

The Grizzlies are scheduled to play 13 home games, including eight of the final 10 games, during the program's inaugural season
In a season filled with numerous firsts, the Georgia Gwinnett College men's basketball program has checked off another milestone: the first schedule for its celebrated inaugural season.

The Grizzlies are set to host 13 home games inside GGC's new The Convocation Center, starting with the program's first game on October 23 against Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina). Tickets for home games will be available for purchase beginning on Monday, August 18.

2025-26 SCHEDULE

The team plays eight of its final 10 games of the 2025-26 season at home and then will begin postseason play by hosting the Continental Athletic Conference championship tournament February 26 to March 1.

Along its inaugural season, GGC is scheduled to compete in five tournaments or classics and will play nine opponents that competed in the 2025 NAIA national tournament.

Convocation Center Sunrise"We put a lot of time and effort into bringing this schedule together. It was a really interesting exercise, being somewhere different and with a first-year program. Our goal was to put together a nationally competitive schedule. That's why you see some of the further road trips," said Head Coach Chase Teichmann, who started the program after having a 100-27 record in four seasons leading teams at Florida College.

After the season-opening game against Spartanburg Methodist College, the team will face Milligan University (Tennessee) on October 25 as part of the college's Grizzlyfest.

GGC travels to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the first of its in-season classics, playing Oklahoma Wesleyan University and the College of Saint Mary (Kansas) on October 31 and November 1, respectively.

The team hits the road for another classic at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, on December 5-6 with games against Midway University (Kentucky) and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (Indiana).

Another tournament ends December, competing in the Athletes in Action event in Xenia, Ohio, with a first-round game against Marian University (Indiana) on December 16. Then, the Grizzlies are scheduled to face Southeastern University (Florida) or the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) in a second game at the event the following day.

"We were able to get nine teams that made last year's national tournament on our schedule. We also wanted to get as many home games as possible, giving our students and community a chance to support us and build a relationship with our team, as well as showcase our brand-new arena. We are excited about the schedule and can't wait for the season to get here."

GGC will travel to Florida College to compete in a CAC Classic from January 9-10 with games against Washington Adventist University (Maryland) and Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas). Then, the program hosts a classic involving conference opponents from February 6-7 with games against Florida College and Fisher College (Massachusetts).

Other home games in the inaugural season schedule include Stillman College (Alabama), on November 6; Cumberland University (Tennessee), on November 12; Dalton State College (Georgia), on November 25; College of Coastal Georgia, on January 13; Johnson University (Tennessee), on January 16; Paine College (Georgia), on January 26; Reinhardt University (Georgia), on February 11; Voorhees University (South Carolina), on February 16; and Carolina University (North Carolina), on February 19.

The CAC championship tournament will bring eight teams to Lawrenceville to compete to represent the conference in the NAIA postseason tournament.
