Georgia Gwinnett College sophomores
Djordje Djurasinovic and
Josefa Simao have been named 2025 NAIA men's soccer Academic All-Americans by the College Sports Communicators organization. These special honors were announced on Tuesday, December 16.
The duo was selected in a nationwide vote of athletic communicators for their work in the classroom and on the pitch during the 2025 season. Honored student-athletes compiled a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average and competed in at least 90 percent or started 66 percent of all matches this past fall.

Djurasinovic and Simao are the first GGC men's soccer players to earn Academic All-American distinction since 2020-21 season and the program has now had five Academic All-Americans in its history. This marks the first time that two Grizzlies have been honored during the same season.
GGC's Office of Athletics has now had 47 Academic All-Americans and at least one honoree each year since 2017.
Djurasinovic, a first-team Academic All-American at midfielder, collected second-team 2025 Continental Athletic Conference honors this fall. The business finance major from Belgrade, Serbia, scored eight goals, including four tallies in a home match against the University of Pikeville (Kentucky) on September 20. He also scored a goal in GGC's 3-0 triumph against Bellevue University (Nebraska) as the Grizzlies won the CAC tournament championship, the program's first league title since 2019.

Simao, a second-team Academic All-American at defender, was also recognized as a second all-conference team performer for the 2025 season. The information technology major helped GGC's defense post eight shutouts and scored four goals and provided three assists while starting 19 matches. The Angers, France, native tallied the match-winning goal in the team's 2-1 victory against Cumberland University (Tennessee) in the Round of 16 of the NAIA national tournament.
Georgia Gwinnett College had a 13-3-4 record and matched the program's deepest postseason run with a quarterfinal-round appearance in the NAIA tournament.
