A pair of one-run victories gave the No. 17-ranked Middle Georgia State University softball team a midweek sweep against No. 3 Georgia Gwinnett College by 1-0 and 2-1 scores Tuesday afternoon in Cochran, Georgia.
Alexis Cosgrove hit a game-tying home run in the seventh inning and later added a sacrifice fly in the ninth frame to plate the winning run in the second game to complete the doubleheader sweep.
The Knights (14-6) scored an unearned run off an RBI double from Gabbie Haas in the third inning for the only run scored in the opener.
GGC (16-7) took a 1-0 lead during the nightcap in the top of the seventh inning after junior
Lindzie Owen hit a run-scoring single to left field.
