The No. 11-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College softball team continues its season-ending road trip with a pair of doubleheaders in Florida.
Up first will be games Saturday, April 22, against Webber International University (Florida) in Babson Park, Florida, starting at 1 p.m. Then, the team will face No. 17 Southeastern University (Florida) on Monday, April 24, in Lakeland, Florida, at 2 p.m.
GGC (32-9) is coming off a road doubleheader split against Truett-McConnell University (Georgia) last Saturday. The team is 6-2 during its current 14-game road trip.
The team's next victory will be the 400th triumph for Head Coach
Kat Ihlenburg in leading the Grizzlies. She has been the only coach in the program's 11 seasons, with six of her teams making NAIA tournament appearances and two advanced to the NAIA World Series.
This year's GGC squad is making another strong statement as one of the nation's best NAIA teams.
Sophomore
Annalise Wood became the first pitcher in NAIA history to toss three perfect games in the same season when she retired all 21 batters she faced at Truett-McConnell. She is the reigning NAIA Softball National Pitcher of the Week, an honor she has earned twice this spring.
Wood stands 17-1 and ranks second nationally with a 0.34 earned run average and 214 strikeouts. She has tossed 10 shutouts in 20 appearances.

Offensively, senior
Sydney Pelaez has a team-high .468 batting average, 36 runs scored, four home runs, 32 RBI, and 13 doubles. Sophomore
Lindzie Owen is hitting at a .454 clip and is a perfect 38-for-38 in stolen base attempts this season.
Junior
Josie Haulk has a .376 batting average in 39 games while senior
Lea McFadden (.351) and freshman
Enna Lackey (.333) round out the top performers.

Georgia Gwinnett College: Kat Ihlenburg is in her 11th season leading the Grizzlies. She has guided the program to a 399-153-2 record, six trips to NAIA postseason play, and World Series appearances in 2019 and 2018.
Webber International: Todd Buckingham is in his first season guiding the Warriors, posting a 13-26 record. He has recorded 492 wins as a collegiate head coach with prior stops at Indiana University Southeast and NCAA Division II Bluefield State College (West Virginia).

Annalise Wood became the first softball pitcher in NAIA history to throw three perfect games in the same season when she accomplished the feat during last Saturday's game at Truett-McConnell University (Georgia). Her earlier perfect games came against Ohio Christian University on February 8 and Bacone College (Oklahoma) on March 10.

For the second time this season sophomore
Annalise Wood was named the NAIA Softball National Pitcher of the Week. For the week, she went 3-0, with three shutouts, and had 30 strikeouts in 20 innings. Wood retired the last 37 batters she faced.

The Grizzlies ranked No. 11 in the final regular-season NAIA Top 25 poll, released by the national office on Wednesday. GGC has been ranked 11th or better in each poll of the regular season. The NAIA Top 25 poll is conducted by a nationwide panel of coaches.

GGC has a 6-2 record during the current 14-game road trip that will conclude the regular season. The team swept doubleheaders against No. 15 University of Mobile (Alabama) and USC Beaufort before splitting games against No. 21 College of Coastal Georgia and Truett-McConnell University (Georgia). The Grizzlies are scheduled to play a doubleheader at No. 17 Southeastern University (Florida) on Monday before concluding the regular season at No. 13 Middle Georgia State University on April 29.

Webber International (13-26) enters Saturday's on a three-game winning streak after sweeping a conference series from Ave Maria University (Florida) last weekend. Kimmie Cheung leads the team with a .319 batting average in 72 at-bats. Brandy Barquin, Johnkira Bland and Maddie Houtz each have driven in 15 runs for the team. Pitcher Taylor Thomas has a 7-10 record and 2.49 earned run average this spring.

The Grizzlies have won four of the five meetings between the two programs. GGC and Webber International split a doubleheader in Lawrenceville last season. Saturday will mark the first time Georgia Gwinnett College has played in Babson Park, Florida, as the first three games in the series were played in neutral site venues.
