The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson College (Kentucky) men's soccer team scored once in each half to pick up a 2-0 victory against Georgia Gwinnett College on Saturday afternoon at the Grizzly Soccer Complex.
The Blue Raiders (10-2-2) struck quickly, scoring when their first shot, by Michael Acquah, curved inside the right post in the 11th minute. The visitors outshot GGC (5-5-4) by a 4-2 margin during the first half.
Lindsey Wilson picked up a red card in the 27th minute, allowing the Grizzlies to threaten for the tying goal with a one-player advantage in the field.

Odin Solheim headed a shot just over the opposing crossbar during the 58th minute. Later, a header by senior
Emanuele Sordi sailed just high with 16 minutes remaining in the match.
GGC's best scoring chance came in the 85th minute when a header by junior
Aoci Pilipili hit the right post but didn't go into the net.
The visitors received their second red card of the match before a corner kick following Pilipili's shot in the closing stretches of the contest. Lindsey Wilson's Sebastian Tregarthen countered the fierce GGC attack to score his ninth goal of the season, this one coming in the 88th minute.
The Grizzlies collected 10 shots and seven corner kicks during Saturday's match. Solheim and Sordi paced the team with three shots apiece.
For the second match in a row, the Grizzlies nearly squared the match in the final five minutes. Junior
Aoci Pilipili struck the right post of the opposing goal with a header in the 85th minute. However, Lindsey Wilson countered GGC's attack following a corner kick to score an insurance goal and pick up a 2-0 victory.
