Martin Methodist scored two goals in each half in defeating the No. 15-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College men's soccer team 4-1 on Tuesday.
The host RedHawks found the back of the net twice in a 66-second span midway through the first half to grab a 2-0 lead. Both of those goals were scored by Jonas Arcalean.
GGC (3-3-1) got on the scoreboard with three seconds left remaining in the opening period when sophomore
Toni Tiente found the back of the net for the fifth time this season.
The visitors spent most of the second half on a relentless search for the game-tying goal. Junior
Ian Aramburu hit the post with a header off a corner kick in the 63rd minute. Then, in the 77th minute, a shot from sophomore
Michael Weber from inside the box was stopped by goalkeeper Julien Gregoire. He made six saves in the match.

Similar to the first half, Martin Methodist (3-4) got two quick goals in the final seven minutes of regulation play. Arcalean scored the team's fourth goal for his third tally of the match.
GGC controlled the match statistically, having a commanding 21-to-8 shot advantage. Senior

The Grizzlies were controlling possession and action in the first half. The visitors had three corner kicks and five shots during the first 24 minutes of action. However, back-to-back counters for Martin Methodist resulted in goals from Jonas Arcalean to give the hosts a 2-0 lead.
