No. 5-ranked University of Mobile (Ala.) made the most of its scoring opportunities in defeating the No. 15 Georgia Gwinnett College men's soccer team 3-0 on Saturday evening.
The hosts Rams (7-1) found the back of the net on three of their six shot attempts in the match.
GGC (3-4-1) had eight shot attempts over the 90 minutes of action. Seven of those shots came in the second half.
Mobile took an early lead on a goal from Yazid Omri in the 15th minute. Second-half goals from Ronald Fortune and Omri midway through the second half finished the scoring for the host Rams.
Turning Point
After allowing an early goal, the Grizzlies were searching for an equalizing tally. However, Mobile added a second goal just over 20 minutes into the second half to pull away. The Rams scored once again four minutes later to secure the victory.
