Women’s Soccer Falls Late at Cumberlands

The University of the Cumberlands found the back of the net in the 88th minute of the match to defeat the Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team 1-0 Saturday evening.

The loss broke the Grizzlies' four-match winning streak and was only the third loss of the season. The team now has a 10-3 record.

GGC held a commanding 12-to-1 shot advantage in the first half and collected 20 shots throughout the entire match. However, none of those shots could find the back of the net across 90 minutes.

Conversely, Cumberlands capitalized off a corner kick in the final two minutes of the match. Jody LeMaster headed the kick from Alanna Skinner for the eventual game-winning goal past the Grizzlies' goalkeeper.
