No. 8 Men's Soccer Battles No. 9 Mobile to 1-1 Draw

Box Score

The top-10 men's soccer matchup between No. 8 Georgia Gwinnett College and No. 9 University of Mobile certainly lived up to its billing, with the two teams battling to a 1-1 draw Tuesday night from the Grizzly Soccer Complex.

Senior Samuel Sampaio Gomes found the back of the net in the 12th minute to get the hosts off to a flying start. The scoring chance was set up following a save by the Mobile goalkeeper on a shot from freshman Michael Weber. Gomes cleaned up the loose ball and placed it into the open net.

Mobile squared the match four minutes into the second half on a header by Sam White.

GGC (5-0-1) held a 17-7 shot edge in the match, with 10 shots coming in the first half. Both teams attempted two shots between the two 10-minute overtime periods.
