Men's Soccer Players Gurr, Weber Tabbed NAIA All-Americans

GGC has had multiple NAIA All-Americans in consecutive seasons

Georgia Gwinnett College men's soccer players are reaping the benefits of the program's first trip the NAIA national championship tournament, with senior Jack Gurr and freshman Michael Weber earning honorable mention NAIA All-American honors for the 2017 season.

This marks the second straight season that a pair of GGC players has received NAIA postseason accolades. Overall, the program has had six NAIA All-Americans.

Gurr led the Grizzlies with seven assists during the successful fall campaign. He had a pair of assists in GGC's second-round triumph against Vanguard University (Calif.) Nov. 27 at the NAIA national tournament. His 22 career assists are the most recorded in program history.

The Newcastle, England native ranked third on the team with 15 points, and he earned first team All-Association of Independent Institutions accolades for this past season.

Weber was named the 2017 A.I.I. Newcomer of the Year after leading the Grizzlies with seven goals and 18 points. He scored three game-winning goals this fall, including the winning tally Nov. 18 in the opening round NAIA tournament victory against Southern Oregon University.

GGC reached the quarterfinals of the NAIA national championship tournament and picked up its first two victories in NAIA postseason play. The team finished the season with a 13-4-2 record and was ranked ninth in the final regular season NAIA Top 25 poll.
