No. 24 Women's Soccer Posts Fourth Straight Shutout

The No. 24-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team recorded its fourth straight shutout, winning at Point University 2-0 Wednesday night. The Grizzlies are unbeaten in their last eight matches to improve to 7-3-1 this fall.

The visitors got on the scoreboard in the 19th minute when junior Lauren Moss tallied her third goal of the season. Junior Amanda Yarger helped set up the scoring chance with a pass to Moss in the midfield.

Later in the first half, junior Nicole Rodriguez received a pass from junior Ana Gonzalez to score her first goal of the season.

GGC had a 23-3 shot edge for the match, including a 13-3 mark in shots on goal over the 90 minutes of action.

Turning Point

The Grizzlies were asserting some early pressure in the match. They finally broke through in the 19th minute junior Amanda Yarger got the ball to junior midfielder Lauren Moss. She then sent a shot the Point goalkeeper for the eventual game-winning goal. The goal was scored on GGC's ninth shot of the match.
