The Georgia Gwinnett softball team finished a busy Saturday afternoon with a 1-2 record against Truett-McConnell College on the Bears' home field in Cleveland.
The teams resumed a rain-halted game from last month before playing a full doubleheader.
In the completion of game one, GGC (13-19) came back but dropped a 7-6 decision. The Grizzlies had trailed 6-0 back on March 5 but rallied for five runs before play was called.
In the middle game Saturday, the Grizzlies once again lost by a single run in a 1-0 defeat. Georgia Gwinnett got the bats going in the finale, scoring a 6-3 victory.
"We had great pitching from Ashley Beyke," GGC head coach Kat Ihlenburg said. "It came down to leaving too many runners on base in the first two games."
The team has won 10 of its last 13 games and continues its road swing with a visit to Thomas University Tuesday. Doubleheader action is set for 2 p.m. in Thomasville.
