Georgia Gwinnett College Athletics

Thanks to a partnership with Northside Hospital, Shira Williams will be entering her 13th year with GGC Athletics in 2024-25. As athletic trainer, she is primarily responsible for coordinating staffing and athletic training efforts for all GGC home events and championship tournaments. She's also tasked with coordinating athletic training student interns and the everyday operations in the athletic training room.

A native Mobile, Ala., Williams joined GGC after graduating from the University of Mobile in May 2012. While in school, she led the Student Athletic Training Education Program and gained experience while working with the men's and women's basketball team as well as with an indoor football team.

Williams is First Aid, CPR and AED certified and a member of the National Athletic Training Association, Southeastern Athletic Training Association and Georgia Athletic Training Association. She also recently earned a master's degree in Physical Education from the University of North Georgia.
