Georgia Gwinnett College Athletics

Alexa Datko rejoined the Georgia Gwinnett College softball coaching staf as assistant coach overseeing the pitching staff in August 2021. She previously held the same position during the 2015 and 2016 seasons where the Grizzlies captured their first Association of Independent Institutions tournament title and two appearances to the NAIA Opening Round.

Datko, a 2011 College of Charleston graduate, spent three seasons working with Scripps Ranch High School in her hometown of San Diego. She was the head coach for the last two seasons.

She experienced unmatched success for the Cougars, culminating with the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year award as a senior. She ended her final season with a 1.95 earned run average, striking out 134 and racking up seven complete game shutouts.
